* A grant for the first time from a mining company, Phelps Dodge Corporation, has been awarded to Dr. Gardea to carry out a project called, "Screening the metal uptake capacity of plant species growing at the Miami tailings reclamation project: Evaluating soil to plant elemental ratios." [more..]

* Dr. Gardea-Torresdey and his colleagues, Drs Zubia (PI), Chianelli, Murr, and McClure have just been awarded a grant ($570,500) from The National Science Foundation to acquire a brand new Scanning Electron Microscope.
