Dr. Gardea's research group attended the 2006 SACNAS National Conference that held on October 26-29 at Tampa, FL, USA. Students from the group participated in the Platform and Poster session and presented their research. Dr. Jose Peralta-Videa was recognized as Who's Who in Science and Engineering in the year 2006.

Nazmul Haque from the group attended the Berkeley-Stanford Summer School on Synchrotron Radiation and Its Applications at University of California, Berkeley on June 26-30, 2006. Professors from different universities share their research word on synchrotron radiation in this summer school which will help Nazmul to lead his research to a successful one.

Nazmul Haque is awarded for the Best Platform Presenter in 2006 South Central SETAC Regional Meeting held in Denton, Texas in May 18-20, 2006. The title of his presentation was " Determination of phytoremediation potential of desert plants grown in a mine tailing reclamation project".

Marcos Delgado from the group has presented his PhD Proposal today (October 3, 2005).

Eight Members from the research group presented their Papers and Posters to Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) National Conference that is currently helding at Denver, USA. Martha Laura from the group has been awarded as a best speaker in the Environmental Section.

Nazmul Haque from the Group is going to present a paper in the ICCE Conference in India in December 2005.
